What sets us apart
Security Escort Vessel
Services (SEVs)
Brit Alliance provides robust support and guarantees for commercial shipping and other vessels entering the Gulf of Guinea, ensuring the security of their cargo and operations within the region. We have established a network of strategic alliances across the GoG with local MoU holders with full authorisation from the host nation authorities.
Each of our SEVs hosts current serving Navy personnel, along with one local former Navy Maritime security officer. To meet our clients’ diverse needs, we offer a variety of suitable escort vessels, ranging from ballistic to high-speed vessels, that are operational 24/7.
Patrol Boats
We offer comprehensive security services to vessels during various operations, such as anchorage, STS operations, bunkering or waiting for a berth.
Our team ensures the safety and protection of client vessels by patrolling the surrounding area within a 0.5-1nm radius, effectively preventing unwanted individuals, including criminals, fishermen or traders from approaching the vessel. Rest assured, our highly trained armed Navy and/or Marine Police personnel are onboard, providing the client with peace of mind at all times.
24/7 Armed Military Personnel
Brit Alliance, together with our local partners who have a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the authorities in each country, employ active members of the Navy/Marine police as armed guards. They are carefully selected based on their rank and experience in maritime security. These individuals are capable of handling situations at sea and act as a deterrent against piracy.
Prior to deployment, they receive comprehensive briefings on the task, including input from the Brit Alliance operations team on anti-piracy measures.
Maintaining a 24/7 watch, these armed guards are deployed on commercial vessels to provide security assistance while operating within their country’s waters. Their presence on board offers peace of mind to the vessel’s master, crew, and clients, ensuring protection while sailing or awaiting berthing at anchorage.
All local national armed guards follow their current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the rules covering the use of force prescribed by their naval command.
Ex Host Nation Military MSLOs
Our highly skilled and experienced Maritime Security Liaison Officers (MSLOs), whether local or European, are available to embark on your vessel and provide valuable advisory support. They assist the master and crew in implementing all necessary measures to strengthen the security of the vessel before entering, or while operating, in the High-Risk Area (HRA) according to the BMP5 West Africa standards. Additionally, they perform watch routines to ensure continuous vigilance.
Our local MSLOs possess extensive military or navy experience, enabling them to serve as a vital connection to the navy in case of any emergent situations. They provide guidance to the master and are able to establish effective communication channels.
Risk Assessments
We offer bespoke maritime risk assessments that utilise data and trends specific to your intended route.
Our assessments aim to identify and mitigate potential threats that your vessel may encounter while sailing into the High-Risk Area (HRA). Our goal is to minimise or eliminate any risks that could jeopardise the safety and security of your vessel.
Stowaway Search
Our dedicated teams are available to conduct thorough stowaway searches prior to your vessel’s departure from a port. Our primary objective is to prevent any asylum seekers, illegal immigrants or criminals from boarding your vessel, who could potentially disrupt your schedule and result in significant costs.
We use highly-trained Maritime Security Liaison Officers (MSLOs) and can also employ K9 units to ensure comprehensive searches are carried out, providing you with peace of mind and minimising any potential risks to your vessel’s operations.
